‘C’ Word With Miss Paula Flynn #110

Christmas has come a little early to the ‘C’ Word which is a little less strictly country than usual as a result. We still manage some Hank Snow, some Tex Ritter and a healthy dose of Richmond Fontaine’s main man Willy Vlautin in storyteller mode.

The songs played were:

Take Apart An Engine – Miss Paula Flynn
Santa Bring My Baby back To Me – Elvis Presley
Lonely This Christmas – Mud
Sleigh Ride – Johnny Desmond And The Ray Charles Singers
One For The Little Bitty Baby – The Weavers
Everybody’s Waiting For The Man With The Bag – Kay Star
Christmas Carols By The Old Corral – Tex Ritter And His Texans
Reindeer Boogie – Hank Snow
Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! – Woody Herman
The Mistletoe Kiss Polka – Margaret Whiting
The Roofers And The Casinos – Willy Vlautin
Christmas Dinner With A Broken Nose – Willy Vlautin
Walking Backwards For Christmas – The Goons
All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth – Spike Jones
Away In A Manger – Jeannie C. Reilly
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – Judy Garland

  1. This is a good playlist. This is the first time I have seen this blog. Will look out for the radio show. I have also recommended it to a friend in Belfast. I have a DAB radio but he may have more success than me when he listens to it on his radio. Too good an opportunity, though, not to include Elvis’ Santa Claus Is Back In Town. But Spike Lee and Kay Starr makes up for it.

  2. enjoyed the broadcast, Paula and you saying as you played out with Judy ~ music…I wouldn’t normally dream of playing…nice one ~ but like you said it is Christmas…two front teeth, took me back near on…55 years possibly more.hmn ~ have a good, one ~Ps cool blog Uz’ got.
