‘C’ Word with Miss Paula Flynn #18 – playlist

My interviewee for the ‘C’ Word #18 (broadcast 22nd February 2010) was Carlene Carter, June’s daughter, and I must admit to being a little star struck.   I caught up with her in a very noisy central Dublin bar and I’m glad to be able to report that she was just lovely.   This show went out the week of Johnny Cash’s birthday and in the end it took on something of a tribute feel.

The songs played were:

I Am Bound For the Promised Land – Alfred G. Karnes

Long Gone Lonesome Blues – Hank Williams

Sunny Mountainside (fragment) – Jimmie Rodgers And The Carter Family

Hot Time In The Old Town Tonight (fragment) – Jimmie Rodgers And The Carter Family

Kneeling Drunkard’s Plea – Charlie Louvin

Folsom Prison Blues – Johnny Cash

Hey Porter – Johnny Cash

Just Inside The Pearly Gates – The Anglin Twins

The Old Account – Johnny Cash

Darling Companion – Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash

San Quentin – Johnny Cash

It Takes One To Know Me – Carlene Carter
